Considering that Nintendo charges $5 for NES games with less features $10 for SNES games with less featres, and Sony charges $5-10 for PS1 games (that you can play on PS3, Vita TV, PSP, OR Vita at no additional cost), and $10-15 for PS2 games with WAY more features… It does not cost Sony or any Publisher any money in physical copies or logistics or marketing to promote these titles, the fact that you implemented a trophy system and upscaled the graphic obviously merits a cost, and as a day 1 Playstation Owner since PS1, I have seen enough evolution in hardware to know that in the next iteration of Playstation my library may not be available to me.
Less we forget that PS2 games were sold at $49.99 and you received a physical copy with tradability and resale value after you finished your experience, the inherent cost of production and logistics to developers and publisher alike was justifyable at that price point, the market agreed so it continue.īut here you are selling a digital copy, with zero material value (can’t trade or sell), potential loss of use with future technology (PS5) at a price point that you cannot justify. While I do appreciate what you are doing, it feels detrimental to put these decade old games at such a high price point (a quarter of a new game, in modern times).
Socom is the game on my wishlist along with many other friends I made on that game. However, I’ll be hanging up the controller soon if socom doesn’t come back… I’ve played an awful lot of games in my 30 years of video games, mostly on PlayStation. I can honestly say that if socom isn’t going to become available to play again especially the multiplayer, then my gaming days are over. I bought the ps4 in the hope that h hour would be released or psn would remaster confrontation for the ps4 and release it on the system with new ways to beat the cheaters that killed the game on the ps3. Will we be able to get the socom titles to play and get the much loved multilayer game back in our lives?Įver since the closure of the confrontation servers on the ps3, I haven’t turned my system on for more than a few minutes. There is a whole community of players who for over a decade stayed faithful to Sony and the socom franchise specifically because of socom. Myself along with thousands of others would like see socom 2 remastered and released for the ps4.
